Description
Members' demonstration and Election of Officers,

Members were treated to a two part program. The first was a dynamic free-style demonstration by Sogetsu school teacher, Dora Lee. This was followed by a graceful Sanshu-ike Shoka arrangement completed by Kathleen Marble, teacher of Ikenobo school, horticulturist, and iris propagator.

The second half of the program consisted of a fascinating presentation of Furoshiki by Minal Akkad. She demonstrated the basic knot and various ways to use this Japanese tradition, such as gift or clothing wrappings, a tote bag or as a wine bottle holder.

The displayed and demonstrated items were colorful and diverse. Many of us were inspired to try our hand at another aspect of Japanese art and culture.
