2011 Tower Hill Ikebana Exhibition

The Tower Hill Botanic Garden was aglow with arrangements exhibited by the Boston Chapter 17. There were 40 members exhibiting, with a total of 36 arrangements, as some were group exhibits, five of which were large scale floor arrangements. Members acted as docents, greeting visitors and guiding them through the show which was set up in all the public buildings and the outside area. Five potters sold Ikebana containers throughout the show. There were demonstrations from Ikenobo and Ohara schools. More demonstrations were scheduled, but a severe early snowstorm forced the cancellation of the final day of the show. The two previous days had provided the “light before the storm”!
