Theme: “Nurtured by Nature”

Our exhibition was very well received by the general public viewing 29 arrangements made by 29 members from the Ikenobo, Ohara and Sogetsu Schools. Included was a Sogetsu Free Style cypress wood floor arrangement by Kaye Vosburgh and a diverse Ohara five pedestal arrangement by Minal Akkad and Hiroko Matsuyama indicating the arrival of spring. Mimi Santini-Ritt, President of the Ikenobo School created a Shoka Shimputai using one material.

Included in this year’s exhibition was a “Curriculum Corner” showing Shoka Shofutai and Issu-ike Shoka from Ikenobo School, Hana-isho Rising Form and Water Reflecting from Ohara School and Basic Upright and Variation #5 from Sogetsu School.

Sogetsu School Director, Tomoko Tanaka, gave a demonstration to the public creating several exquisite arrangements. Twenty five I.I. members served as docents throughout the five day exhibition.

We were honored by a visit from Mr. Tsutomu Himeno, Consul General and Mr. Masaru Aniya and his wife Mrs. Yukiko Aniya
