2019 Tower Hill Ikebana Exhibition
Location: 11 French Drive, Boylston, MA

The 2019 Boston Chapter of Ikebana International exhibition at Tower Hill Botanic Garden was held October 4– 6. The exhibits were wonderful and visitors were so impressed with the show. We had 34 arrangements on pedestals, 3 large floor arrangements, one which was done by a teacher and her students, and one arrangement on a wall. 45 members exhibited from 4 schools; Ikenobo, Ichiyo, Ohara and Sogetsu. The show was on display for two and one half days. During these days we had II members who served as docents; they engaged the audience with ikebana lore.
There were 5 demonstrations over the course of the three days by teachers of the Ikenobo School, the Ohara School and the Sogetsu School. Each demonstration was educational, beautiful and exciting. The children were thrilled with their class led by Joanne Caccavale and the lovely containers constructed by Rena Foley.
Ikebana containers were sold by three potters from Ohio, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. This was a very successful show and the education and participation of the public was well executed.
