Demonstration by Noritaka Noda, the Ikenobo School of Ikebana

Our well attended program welcomed Professor Noritaka Noda, president of the New York City Ikenobo School chapter. Special guests included Amy Ohmori, the wife of the Consul General of Japan in Boston, Cultural Consul Mr. Yamauchi, and Consular staff member Ms. Sumiko.
Professor Noda created seven arrangements, in historical order of their inclusion in Ikenobo practice: Tatebana, Rikka Shofutai, Shoka Shofutai (Nishuike), Shoka Shimputai, Rikka Shimputai and two freestyle arrangements. The arrangements were beautiful examples of their types and much appreciated by the attendees.
